This site does not use advertising, retargeting or analytics cookies. There is no tracking pixel and no third-party marketing script, so there is nothing optional to switch on or off. We only use the storage the site genuinely needs to work.
What we actually store
- Sign-in and security — the session your browser needs to keep you signed in to a grown-up account. Strictly necessary.
- Language — your chosen display language. The Google Translate engine is not loaded and no request is sent to Google unless you press the Translate control. Once you choose a language, Google Translate sets its own preference cookie (
googtrans) so your chosen language survives page changes; switching back to English clears it. - Storage acknowledgement — a single value remembering that you have seen this notice, so we stop showing it.
- Reading progress and reader preferences — kept on your device when you are reading as a guest, so a story resumes where you left it. When you are signed in, progress is saved to your account instead.
Paid access is not stored on your device
Purchased stories, family membership and school access are decided on our server against your account every time you open a story. Clearing your browser storage never removes access you have paid for, and nothing in your browser can grant it.
What we never use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Third-party social tracking pixels.
- Website analytics or profiling of children.
If we ever add optional analytics, it will be off until you positively agree, and a real control will appear on this page.
Your controls
You can also clear cookies and site data at any time from your browser settings. Clearing sign-in storage will simply sign you out. Questions? Use our contact and support page, or read the privacy policy.
