Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Billy and the Wild Forest website, reader, member discovery layer and school tools (together, "the service"). By creating an account or buying, you agree to them.

1. Who operates this service

Billy and the Wild Forest is operated by Global Solutions Management LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Registered office: 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, United States. Company number CRN 10420698. Support and legal contact is through our contact page.

2. Grown-up accounts

Creating an account requires you to tick a box agreeing to these Terms of Use and confirming that you have read our Privacy Policy, and a separate box confirming that you are aged 18 or over and are the responsible adult for the account. We record the date, the version you accepted and that adult confirmation against your account. Every purchase and subscription is also subject to these terms and to our Refunds & Cancellation policy. These terms are written to be clear and fair; they cannot remove every legal risk, and nothing here affects rights you have under the law where you live.

• Accounts, purchases and subscriptions may only be created and held by an adult aged 18 or over. This is our account rule for the service, because an adult is entering into an agreement and paying for it; it is not a statement that every visitor to a website must be 18.
• A family account must be created and controlled by a parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult for the child who will read the stories.
• A school account must be created and controlled by an authorised adult member of staff or representative of the school or organisation.
• The service does not offer child accounts, child profiles or child sign-in. Children may use the age-appropriate reading and discovery content only through an adult-controlled family account or a staff-controlled school environment, and must never create an account, enter an email address or password, provide contact details, or accept these terms.
• You are responsible for your account and password, for keeping them confidential, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been misused.
• You are responsible for supervising the child's use of the stories and for keeping your adult login details, payment details and devices away from children.
• By creating an account you represent that you are aged 18 or over, that you hold the authority described above for a family or school account, and that you are permitted to use the payment method you provide.
• You must give accurate account and billing information.

Before each paid purchase or subscription you are also asked to tick a separate purchase confirmation box showing the exact price and, for memberships and licences, that the payment recurs until cancelled. We record the version of these documents you accepted, the adult confirmation and the date on a server-side acceptance record.

3. What you get — digital licences

Everything you buy is a licence to read within this service. It is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to read the relevant content in our reader. It is not a sale or transfer of the stories, illustrations, characters or any other intellectual property, and it does not include download, print, broadcast or redistribution rights.

Single adventure — $9.99

A one-off purchase attaches a licence for that specific story to the grown-up account that bought it. It is intended to remain available on that account permanently, subject to these terms and to the continued operation of the service. It is not transferable to another account and it does not transfer ownership of the artwork or story.

Wild Forest Family membership

• While a Family Monthly or Family Annual membership is active, the account can read all 12 current adventures immediately and use the current member discovery layer (character worlds, animal and nature discovery, conversation prompts and related member content).
• New content may be added over time and existing content may occasionally change or be withdrawn; membership is access to the library as it stands from time to time, not a promise of a specific future release schedule.
• If membership ends, stories you bought individually stay with your account. Member-only content and books you only had through membership stop being available.

4. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

• Memberships renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from My Wild Forest. Cancelling stops future renewals and member access normally continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
• If a payment fails, the subscription may move to an on-hold or past-due state and member-only access may pause until payment succeeds or the subscription is cancelled.
• We will tell you before any change to your subscription price takes effect.

5. School licences

• A Wild Forest School Annual licence is granted to the named school for classroom and staff use for one year, within the pupil cap on your plan (300 pupils on the standard plans). Larger settings and multi-academy trusts are licensed by separate agreement.
• Access is held by adult staff accounts. A school administrator can invite further staff and can revoke access. Pupils do not have logins; reading is led and controlled by staff on school devices or displays.
• Wild Forest School + Home additionally allows home reading through a parent or guardian adult account linked to the school licence. There are still no child accounts.
• School-derived home access ends when the school licence ends, is downgraded, or when the school revokes that access.
• Licences are not transferable between schools or settings.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not share account credentials publicly or with people outside your household, staff team or licence.
• Do not copy, screenshot for distribution, download, scrape, mirror, redistribute, resell, publicly perform or sub-licence the stories, artwork, audio or discovery content.
• Do not use any part of the protected content to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine learning or generative AI systems.
• Do not attempt to bypass the preview gate, access controls, entitlement checks or payment flow.
• Do not probe, disrupt or overload the service, or use automated tools against it without our written permission.

7. Intellectual property

The Billy and the Wild Forest stories, characters, original illustrations and other series assets are protected original works and all rights are reserved by their rights holders. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of, or any right to commercialise, that material.

8. Availability, changes and suspension

• We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates and occasional downtime happen.
• Features, content and the member layer may be improved, changed or retired over time.
• We may suspend or restrict an account where it is reasonably necessary — for example suspected misuse of content, a security concern, or repeated payment failure — and we will act proportionately.
• If we reasonably believe an account is being created or controlled by a minor, or that the 18+ or authority confirmation given to us was untrue, we may suspend access to the account while we look into it. We will act proportionately and in line with applicable consumer law, and this does not remove your rights in relation to paid access or refunds.

9. Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as Merchant of Record for purchases made through this site. This means your contract for the payment transaction — including payment, tax handling, refunds processing and chargebacks — is also governed by Dodo Payments' buyer terms and policies. Card details are entered on the payment provider's secure checkout and are never requested, transmitted or stored by us. All prices are shown in US dollars. See our refund and cancellation policy.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer or other statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights relating to content that is faulty, not as described or not supplied with reasonable care and skill. Where any part of these terms conflicts with a mandatory legal right that applies to you, that right prevails.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have jurisdiction over disputes. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, and you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts where the law allows.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown before your next purchase or renewal, and the "last updated" date above will change.
